Everything showed up. Theres was only one or two bags not closed but nothing looked used or anything wrong with them. Only issue with the order is i had no idea it even shipped or was coming until a week after it arrived. Even the payment didnt show up until two weeks after i ordered and after the yarn arrived which scared me. But otherwise i got all the yarn i ordered no issue and on sale the price was worth the investment

Q: Does this yarn type work well with amigurumi patterns?

    1 Answer

A: Yes, Red Heart Comfort yarn works quite well for amigurumi patterns! It's a soft acrylic yarn that holds its shape and stitch definition well, which is important for amigurumi. It’s also machine washable, making your finished projects easy to care for. The yarn isn’t too stiff, so your amigurumi will still have a good amount of flexibility, but it's sturdy enough to maintain the structure of small, intricate parts.

Q: Is the comfort yarn a skein of pieces, one ad said fewer ends for blankets etc

A: While this yarn is designed to be one continuous strand, knots can happen in the manufacturing process and would be considered within industry standards. Some skeins may have a knot or a few knots. If you come across more than a few knots in one skein, please email inquire@yarnspirations.com with full details, so that we may review. Additionally, it is recommended to remove the label, push the outside ends together to return the yarn to its original ball shape and work from the outside strand for best results.

A: Although we are unable to match or source dye lots, we do have a few suggestions when someone is searching for a specific lot: 1. Return to the shop where you bought the yarn, bring your existing yarn and skein band, and compare/contrast to determine if they have the same lot available. If not, you can compare the yarn itself (especially next to windows/natural light) to look for any differences across lots. 2. Visit Etsy.com and eBay.com and search for the yarn you're interested in. Click into the listings and look at the photos posted by the seller. They typically show the back side of the skein band with the dye lot/production date information. From there, you can determine if the lots available match yours. Although it's recommended to use the same dye lot for your entire project, we realize this is not always possible for crafters. In that case, you have some problem-solving options in case the yarns aren't matching well: • Try working 2 rows from one dye lot and then 2 rows from the other dye lot, carrying the yarn that you are not working with up the side of your project, rather than cutting it at the end of every row. This technique can minimize the influence of working with different lots and give a more uniform/intentional look to your finished piece. • Use color-blocking with a different, complementary color to separate the existing yarns and minimize the appearance of difference • Consider changing the stitch pattern to trick the eye into thinking the difference is a result of stitching • Shorten the project (i.e., don't use another lot) We hope this information has been helpful!

A: Variegated yarns paint pictures, it is what they do. Changing skeins, or changing stitch patterns, or changing needle or hook size, or even changing which color that starts the row will affect what that pattern looks like. There are tips and tricks that folks use to reduce the "pooling" or "flashing" effect of the yarn. Pooling is when a whole bunch of one color is next to a whole bunch of another color. Flashing happens when one color joins together to create a flash of color. Both are the nature of working with variegated yarns. The most common remedy for pooling and flashing is alternating skeins, working one or two rows of one color and switching to another. This can remove the effect entirely, or create a whole new design. Another newer method is assigned pooling. Dawn Barker is a designer who started the idea of changing the stitch pattern when you get to a specific color. You can search Dawn Barker and Assigned Pooling for more information. Another method used is intentionally changing gauge when switching yarns. Finally, many makers embrace the yarns creativity and color block the sections of the different patterns using solids (so their friends think they did that magic).

Q: When the yarn is out of stock does that mean it will no longer be produced? I am currently working on a project with this yarn and now I discover that it is out of stock. Is there close substitute for this product?
